Custom 4x4 Tow Hooks

Well I decided to try out Custom 4x4 Tow hook brackets. They seem very strong and came with an extra bracket like the factory ones do. I will put a link at the bottom of the page for their web site to look at them since I do not have any pictures of the installation. I put them on my 1997, which involved a little more work than the pre 97's. You will have to take off or loosen the bumper end caps since there is a bolt under them that needs to be removed. I just removed them entirely to get them out of my way. There are 2 bolts that attach them to the fender flair's so you will need to partially remove the plastic inner wheel well to get to them. Once they are off its just hunt for and remove the bolts that hold the bumper on. Don't forget about the vacuum canister in the passenger side of the bumper. Disconnect or remove the canister completely. Putting the brackets on is quick. You will notice a little of a tight fit on the driver's side for the bolts near the steering box. However, I was able to get the bolts on with no big problems. Put the tow hook brackets against the frame then put the bumper brackets on after. But you will need to grind off a little of the bumper bracket to get the front bolt for the tow hook to go all the way up when tightening. Other than that, its just lining up the bumper and putting every thing back the way you took it off.
Don't forget to reconnect or replace the vacuum canister.
